Buying or Building a PC – Which is Better?

If you’re into technical stuff and have had computers before in the past, you might have even built one… Was it a good choice? Let’s talk about building a computer vs buying one from a company.

If you would have asked me this question a while back I’d say just to build one yourself. But today things have changed. You can get a computer for a few hundred dollars, and it just comes installed with Windows and everything. So building one yourself (including buying the software) may not be the best choice. Buying a prebuilt one might be viable.

There’s one thing that I should point out. If you are going to be purchasing a pre-built computer you won’t have the same kind of quality as somebody who did everything themselves. You won’t be able to add on specific parts that you want, like CD reading hardware or a high end graphics card. So when buying a pre-built PC… you lose a bit of control and quality.

If you just went with a normal computer that was being built from a major manufacturer, then you probably wouldn’t be able to have some of these high end things. But it doesn’t matter if you aren’t going to be using those anyway.

Here’s another major point. How long are you going to want your PC to be with you for?

It’s simple why I’m asking this from you. If you are going to want your PC to last a while… buying a Compaq, HP, Dell, or similar pre-built PC model won’t be right for you. That’s simply because they are already at the maximum performance for their hardware.

On the other hand, if you were able to build the computer yourself… You will probably be able to make it upgradeable in the future while keeping your cost really low.

By going this route you’ll not only have a better computer now, but you can switch out the processor in the future and have an even faster PC. You can switch out the memory and processor alone to make it feel much faster. Throw in a new hard drive and you have a brand new PC for very little spent. Imagine if a new piece of CD hardware comes out in 6 months? You can just buy it and stick it on.

Just double check and make sure that you know what you’re doing. If you don’t you might not be able to make things work out, and it’s nice to have a manufacturer warranty sitting there to assist you if the PC messes up.

Logitech MK320 Review

Puzzled. Many people will recognize that Mk320 combo is much better for notebooks then for desktop’s. A couple weeks ago I was trying to find good wireless mouse for my new laptop. It was clear to me that I will have lot of uses from same mouse for the laptop but the keyboard was no longer so convincing. Couple of weeks using Mk320 my attitude has changed from negative to positive.

SETUP:

Connecting the keyboard Mk320, You can be assured had been a rather simple easy thing. Opening up box required more time then setting it up. Only the thing you need is to connect the receiver into usb and win7 will instantly install MK320. Once I stated earlier I am the owner of the laptop, which means that usually the usb receiver is switched off and to my surprise whenever I reconnect it the MK320 has developed rapidly.
